Box Mill Stream Fish Ladder
Last Thursday sixth graders from Team Atlantic of Messalonskee Middle School took a field trip to visit the Box Mill Stream Fish Ladder in Vassalboro to experience the alewife spring migration run. From start to finish, students had an incredible time with this hands-on learning opportunity. They met with a marine biologist who conducted a fish dissection and provided a detailed description of the alewife migration patterns particular to this region here in central Maine. Students were enthusiastic throughout the experience, with many sharing that it was the “best field trip ever” at the end of the day! #WeAreRSU18
