Salsa Celebration
Messalonskee Middle School students in Mrs. Ripa’s science classes recently enjoyed salsa made from tomatoes and jalapeños from the school garden. Last year’s eighth graders planted the gardens and Mrs. Ripa tended to the gardens over the summer. She prepared 1.5 gallons of salsa for this year’s students! Extra ingredients like tortilla chips were purchased with grant money. Students will be helping to make and taste test pesto in the coming weeks with basil from the gardens. This is part of Mrs. Ripa’s annual gardening unit! #WeAreRSU18
