Team Highland takes on Knotweed
Team Highlands students, with Gulf of Maine Research Institute support, documented invasive Japanese Knotweed around our school campus for “Project Knotweed” in Mrs. Ripa’s science classes. We collected data in teams and submitted our data to scientists at Cornell University. Students then wrote scientific essays explaining the data, the importance of biodiversity and the impact of invasive species on native ecosystems.
