Eagle Railway at MMS
The Eagle Railway is just about up and running at Messalonskee Middle School. MMS Principal Mark Hatch has been working with members of the former Sheepscot Valley Model Railroad Club (SVMRRC) to put this new model railroad club together. The SVMRRC started in 1991, meeting in the Whitefield Lions Club facility. Since then it has moved a few times before being donated to Messalonskee Middle School in 2017.
Hatch hopes to create an opportunity for students and community members with a wide array of backgrounds to come together over a common interest. “The goal of the group is to bring together students and adults who can share the model train hobby for its art, history, technology, modeling, and enjoyment,” said Hatch in a recent Facebook post.
The new group, which is open to both students and adults, will start meeting officially on every other Tuesday evening at 6:00PM starting on March 5th at MMS in room 221.
