Seventh Grade Science Explores Earth’s Spheres
In Mrs. Swahn’s seventh grade science class at Messalonskee Middle School, students have been diving deep into the study of Earth’s four spheres: the Geosphere, Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, and Biosphere. Through creative hands-on projects, they’ve brought these systems to life—crafting salt dough Earth models with labeled layers, building “fault lines” with graham crackers and marshmallow fluff, and experimenting with water cycle models. These activities have helped students visualize how Earth’s systems interact and depend on one another, creating a dynamic, hands-on approach to science that’s as fun as it is informative. #WeAreRSU18
